About the Wine

Founded by the visionary Marisa Chiappini, this winery is a testament to the rich legacy she inherited from her father. Today, it's under the expert stewardship of Marisa's son, Giuliano. There’s a fun fac here: The seven vices playfully inspire the names of the wines produced here: L’Invidio (Envy), Il Superbo (Pride), L’Iracondo (Wrath), and Il Goloso (Gluttony).

At Podere Sette, a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is at the core of their philosophy. Every grape is nurtured with care, and the vineyards are cultivated using organic methods.

L'INVIDIO Bolgheri Rosso is a wine born from the desire to capture the essence of Bolgheri's terroir. It skillfully balances the region's irresistible charm and elegance with a remarkable freshness that sets it apart. When you uncork a bottle of L'INVIDIO, you're not just enjoying a wine; you're experiencing Bolgheri's soul in a glass.

L'INVIDIO Bolgheri Rosso is a versatile companion for your culinary adventures. Pair it with succulent grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, or aged cheeses to elevate your dining experience. Whether it's a cozy evening at home or a special celebration, this wine adds a touch of elegance to any occasion.

Bolgheri is a region located in beautiful Tuscany, one of the greatest references for wine. Tuscany was for a long time a very conservative wine-growing place, where it was only allowed to make wines under strict regulations and with the use of Sangiovese grapes, until the Bolgheri region resonated, where, thanks to its particular terroir conditions, it is a perfect place to plant French varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, resulting in the famous “Super Tuscan Wines”. This disruptive region has managed to deliver us some of the best wines that we currently have in the world. And let me tell you, wine lovers are deeply grateful to the intrepid revolutionaries of this magnificent region!

Aging: 10 months 70% in French oak barrels and 30% in steel tanks

Tasting NotesMerlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. Red fruit, vanilla, and spices make the aromatic spectrum very intriguing. The smooth and soft tannins contribute with a touch of acidity to make this wine intense, rich and at the same time unexpectedly easy to drink.

Reviews

A very juicy, bright Bolgheri with a hint of reduction now on top of the red cherries and plums. Not very complex, but lively and energetic, with sappy acidity and silky tannins, showing lots of immediate appeal and enticing drinkability. Really well-balanced. Drink in 2023. ~91 James Suckling

Cherries, orange zest, cloves, and baking spices show on the nose of this wine, with a bit of graphite and tar at the back. The chocolatey-cherry palate maintains freshness and form thanks to lots of acid and sturdy tannins. ~91 Wine Enthusiast
