About the Wine
Chablis wines are a treasure coveted by wine collectors and sommeliers, often hailed as some of the finest expressions of Chardonnay in the world. These mineral-driven, unoaked wines boast exceptional acidity, delivering a pure, unaltered taste of the grape—distinct and unforgettable.
What makes Chablis stand apart? The secret lies in its extraordinary terroir. The region is home to Kimmeridgian soil—an ancient blend of clay and limestone formed over 180 million years from fossilized oyster shells. This rare soil imbues Chablis with a signature minerality, setting it apart from any other Chardonnay on the planet.
Founded over three centuries ago in the storied village of Pernand-Vergelesses, Domaine Laleure-Piot stands as a proud emblem of Burgundy’s winemaking heritage, cradled along the slopes of the Montagne de Corton. Since joining Maison Champy in 2010, the 10-hectare estate has embraced full organic and biodynamic cultivation. Traditionally anchored in the Côte de Beaune—with prized parcels in Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, and Chorey-lès-Beaune, including Premier and Grand Cru vineyards—the domaine has recently broadened its reach to include Chablis and other iconic Burgundian appellations.
At Laleure-Piot, precision guides every step of the craft. Grapes are hand-harvested with rigorous yield control to capture peak ripeness, then handled gently through modern, gravity-fed winemaking in stainless steel and oak.
Each cuvée rests 11 to 20 months in barrels, marrying tradition and innovation to reveal the pure, expressive character of Burgundy’s legendary terroir.
