About the Wine

Domaine Pere et Fils is one of our favorite under-the-radar producers of Burgundy. This is a family that, simply put, makes great Burgundy. The Poulleau family has crafted quality Burgundy since the 1960s. Established by husband and wife Michel and Jacqueline, their son Thierry and his wife Florence have since taken the reins. Over 90% of the wine they produce is made from Pinot Noir grown throughout Burgundy. They’re experts at producing reds that reflect the terroir from the regions they’re grown in.

 The family harvests the grapes manually, choosing only the best for this wine that’s then handled by the experts who produce an oak-aged wine that perfectly reflects its terroir. The greatest care is taken in bottling this rich and supple Burgundy before Domaine Poulleau allows it to leave the cellars. What you’ll find in the bottle is an exquisite red wine that unfolds with captivating nuances of both black and red fruits. Its graceful, rounded presence on the palate further enhances its elegant character.

Les Prevoles is a beautiful 3-acre vineyard located in Beaune. This vineyard is a paradise on earth, with 50-year-old vines that thrive in soils of clay, limestone, and marl. It’s harvested manually before aging in oak barrels.

Aging: The wine is made 100% in French barrels, with 20% new oak.

Tasting Notes

100% Pinot Noir. Deep and bright red. It shows beautiful notes of black and red fruits and remains round and elegant on the palate. This is a very rich and supple wine.
