Chateau de la Pierre Levee is a part of the Révélations d'Hubert de Boüard collection which is an exclusive partnership between Yvon Mau and Hubert de Boüard (co-owner of Château Angelus). This collection of nine châteaux aims to reveal unsung vineyards with great potential and develop exemplary Bordeaux wines in a fruity, balanced style accessible to all. The majority of the vines are in a single block surrounding the chateau in the area known as Bazille, in the commune of Salles-de-Castillon to the northwest of the appellation. The estate overlooks a superb vineyard covering hillsides with perfect exposure. The chateau's name is a reference to an imposing two-meter-high dolmen, a designated historic monument found next to the vineyard.
Hubert de Boüard is one of the most esteemed winemakers in Bordeaux. He is a global wine consultant and works with properties in Italy, Spain, France, Lebanon, South Africa, among others. His home and his specialty are in Bordeaux and his particularly craft is with Merlot. He has received many commendations and 100 point scores for his wines, most notably at Ch. Angelus, which sells for >$350.
