About The Wine

Schrader Cellars is one of the most awarded wineries in the history of American wine. The Schrader name is synonymous with outstanding, high-scoring Napa Valley Cabernet that is very limited and very expensive. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has made so many 100-point and near-perfect wines, we've lost count.

There is not much to be said about Schrader that hasn't already made headlines. Fred Schrader, an art and antiquity trader, attended the Napa Valley wine auction in the late '90s. He fell in love with Napa and then met Andy Beckstoffer and Thomas Rivers Brown. From that time, they sourced outstanding fruit from the To Kalon vineyard and set the wine world ablaze with some of the most sought-after, collectible, and delicious Napa Valley Cabernets ever created.

The single vineyard release wines from Schrader are some of the most sought after trophy wines in California and the world. We have the To Kalon available here.

The 2023 Double Diamond Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a savvy buy from wine lovers who know and appreciate the high quality fruit and wine making from Thomas Rivers Brown, but don't want to pay the $500+ price tag of the single vineyard wines. This bold yet polished expression of Napa Valley offers depth, vibrancy, and structure in equal measure.

The 2023 Napa Valley vintage isn’t just another great year – it’s the year that will be etched in history. Wine experts are calling it "the vintage of a lifetime," and for good reason. The perfect blend of cool temperatures, morning fog, and balanced sunlight created conditions so exceptional that they’re being compared to Bordeaux's iconic 1961 vintage.

As The Wine Independent put it, 2023 is "a winemaker's dream in terms of wine style." Wine Bible author Karen MacNeil calls it "one of the most phenomenal vintages ever in Napa Valley." This is Napa at its finest, with wines of depth, power, and elegance that will be the talk of the wine world for decades to come.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The nose opens with layered aromas of ripe black cherry, dark plum, graphite, and violets, underscored by subtle notes of sweet tobacco and baking spice. On the palate, the wine is expansive and silky, revealing concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis, and dark chocolate, balanced by refined tannins and a vibrant core of acidity.

A hint of crushed rock and cedar lingers through the long, harmonious finish, capturing the essence of Oakville’s exceptional terroir.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

A beautiful, luscious, easy-sipping red that goes deep in red and black fruit on a silky texture. Dark plums, black cherries, dark chocolate, cocoa and hints of red flowers, iron and graphite. Soft, resolved tannins and a lingering finish. Drink now or hold. ~ 95 James Suckling

Almost all Oakville with a splash of Wappo Hill, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is a smoking red that longtime Napa lovers will adore. Red and black fruits, spicy wood, flowers, and cedar nuances all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a pure, layered, seamless profile that has tons to love. ~ 94 Jeb Dunnuck
