Introducing the exquisite 2019 Fanti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, a testament to centuries of winemaking tradition and passion. Nestled in the heart of Montalcino, the Fanti family's legacy dates back to the early 19th century, long before the inception of Brunello. Their estate, Tenuta Fanti, has become a beacon for wine enthusiasts worldwide, drawing them with wines that embody pure enjoyment and a unique journey through flavor.

Under the stewardship of the charismatic Filippo Fanti, affectionately known as Sarrino and his daughter Elisa, the estate has flourished, experiencing a remarkable resurgence over the past 15 years. Their dedication to quality and innovation is evident in every sip of their wines.

The cellar, a marvel completed in 2004, lies hidden beneath the earth, opposite the Abbazzia di Sant convent church, blending seamlessly with its surroundings. Here, modern winemaking techniques intertwine with tradition, as large barrels, barriques, and barrels harmonize to craft the iconic Brunello.

The vineyards, meticulously tended, stretch across the picturesque landscape, ranging from 150 to 430 meters above sea level. The soil, rich in volcanic minerals, imparts rare organoleptic characteristics to the grapes, resulting in wines of unparalleled depth and complexity.

The journey towards sustainability is woven into the fabric of Fanti's ethos. Embracing organic agriculture over a decade ago, the estate has taken further strides towards environmental stewardship. From lightweight glass bottles to practices like grassing and green manure between vineyard rows, every decision is a step towards preserving the natural balance of the land.

Aging: 30 months in oak barrels, 50% in barriques of 225 lts. and 50% in big oak barrels of 30 hl.

Tasting Notes

100% Sangiovese. Intense ruby red, notes of ripe red fruit(cherry, black cherry) with aromas of coffee and pepper. To accompany floral notes of rose and rosemary, followed by strong hint of licorice. Pleasant sweetness on the attack recalls the scents perceived by the nose. Ripe but at the same time round tannins which makes the wine pleasantly silky with a good persistence on the finish.

Critical Reviews

Offering dark fruit and an articulate bouquet with elements of ripeness and balsamic herb, the Fanti 2019 Brunello di Montalcino releases its aromas in swells of licorice, dark plum, cured tobacco and sweet potting soil. In terms of palate, this Brunello delivers much of its intensity in an upfront manner with a blast of ripe fruit that fades quietly over the mid-palate.
