2023 Inama 'Vigneti di Foscarino' Soave Classico

If you’ve been hearing lots of buzz about Soave recently, it’s because small producers like Inama have been carefully nurturing the vineyards in the region. Modern Soave’s quality reflects the care and intent of these producers. Many of the region’s wines are also a fantastic value, and the 2019 Inama 'Vigneti di Foscarino' Soave Classico is one of them.

Inama winery dates back to 1948, when founder Giuseppe Inama started to work as a winemaker, and soon bought his first parcels in Monte Foscarino. Today, after more than 70 years, Guiseppe’s goal remains the same “to produce unique and classic wines that truly represent the greatness of the land.” Inama’s vineyards are located in the Veneto area, in Colli Berici, and in Soave Classico.

Soave Classico dates back to Roman times. This DOC was established in 1968, and as a matter of fact, it was the first white wine DOC in Italy, Soave’s hillside vineyards sit southwest of Venice in Veneto. The soils are rich with clay and volcanic minerals that come from the volcanic hills above the region. All these peculiar terroir conditions, make this place home to one of the most cherished white wines in all of Italy.

Aging: Fermentation in old barriques. After, it remains on the lees for 6 months with batonnage every 6 weeks. This is followed by another 6 months of aging in steel vats on fine lees.
