About the Wine
Born from a family legacy that spans nearly eight decades, Maison André Goichot has been writing its own chapter in Burgundy’s history since 1947. What began with André-Marcel Goichot trading wines from local growers soon evolved into a full-fledged domaine under his son, André-Marie, and by the 2000s, the family had built a state-of-the-art winery near Beaune, blending modern precision with old-world savoir-faire.
Their vineyards in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits rise above the fabled Côte d’Or, overlooking a patchwork of vines from Gevrey-Chambertin to the Bois de Corton — a landscape of rugged beauty and quiet power. Here, patience and persistence pay off: grapes ripen slowly in the cool air, developing depth and purity that reflect the wild grace of the hills.
As Vinous notes, the 2022 vintage is Burgundy’s latest trick — a treasure trove of bright, fresh wines in a season that seemed destined to deliver the opposite.
The fruit is carefully destemmed and vinified for four weeks, extracting the full character of Burgundy’s noble terroir. After fermentation, the wine rests for 12 months — half in oak barrels, half in stainless steel — achieving that perfect Goichot balance of texture, freshness, and aromatic finesse. The result is a wine that feels both timeless and alive — elegant, expressive, and unmistakably Burgundian.
Tasting Notes
Dark purple or ruby, often worn on raspberries, a cherry, licorice, and sometimes violet wine. Gourmet and velvety in the mouth, its structure is very present but without roughness.
