About the Wine

For nearly 400 years, the Thanisch family has been at the forefront of Mosel winemaking, crafting some of the region’s most iconic Rieslings. The estate, Weingut Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Thanisch, has a deep-rooted tradition in producing wines of purity, balance, and elegance. A pioneering winery, it was among the founding members of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) in 1910, emphasizing quality and authenticity in German winemaking. The Bernkasteler Badstube vineyard, where this wine originates, is one of Mosel’s most celebrated sites, known for its steep, south-facing slopes and Devonian slate soils.
