About the Wine
Perched 450 meters above sea level in the picturesque hills of Loazzolo, Borgo Maragliano cultivates 25 hectares of vineyards on a natural terrace overlooking the Langhe. Here, a gentle spring breeze known as Marin drifts in from the sea, moderating night temperatures and enriching the grapes with aromatic intensity.
The Galliano family oversees every stage of production—from vineyard to bottle—combining time-honored traditions with modern winemaking techniques to express the character of this exceptional terroir.
La Caliera pays homage to a beloved neighbor whose kindness and spirit remain deeply rooted in the estate’s history. This Moscato d’Asti, crafted entirely from Moscato Bianco di Canelli, captures that same warmth in every sip.
After a gentle pressing, the must is chilled to preserve its natural sweetness before undergoing a slow fermentation in pressurized tanks. Once the perfect balance of freshness, sweetness, and delicate effervescence is achieved, fermentation is stopped at 5.5% alcohol.
The result is an elegant, aromatic wine bursting with floral notes, ripe peach, and honeyed citrus—bottled each November as a true reflection of Loazzolo’s unique terroir and the heritage of Borgo Maragliano.
Tasting Notes
100% Moscato Bianco di Canelli.
A vibrant and expressive bouquet unfolds with candied fruit, acacia blossom, and a subtle musky undertone, lifted by a distinctive hint of violet that adds both elegance and intrigue.
