At the heart of this brilliance is Florent Bourgeois, a winemaker whose experience reads like a wine lover’s dream. Before taking the reins at Domaine Gérard Fiou in 2013, Florent honed his craft in legendary wine regions across the globe. From California’s Sonoma Valley at Vérité Winery, to Mendoza’s Familia Zuccardi, to New Zealand’s famed Marlborough at Clos Henri, he’s perfected his approach to crafting wines that sing with terroir. And now, back in Sancerre, he’s turning his family’s estate into one of the Loire Valley’s shining stars.

‘Le Grand Roc’ is all about precision and care. These 50+ year-old vines are hand-harvested, and the wine is aged on fine lees in French oak barrels for ten months, followed by another eight months in vats to perfect its balance. The result? A Sancerre that’s layered with flinty aromas, bright citrus, and a touch of smoke—a wine that evolves beautifully for up to eight years. It’s not just a bottle of wine; it’s a work of art.

Sancerre is an appellation located in the eastern part of the Loire Valley. This appellation produces red and rosé, but it’s undoubtedly the white Sancerre the flagship style of the whole region.

Aging: 100% Barrel fermented (1-3 years old).

Tasting Notes

100% Sauvignon Blanc. A well-rounded, precise and focused Sancerre with aromas of quince peel, leaves, stones and hints of guava. lt's medium- to full-bodied with bright acidity and a dense core of juicy fruit and spices. Mouthwatering finish with excellent persistence.

There's complexity and depth to this racy, seductive white. With time in glass, layers of white peach, verbena and white blossoms emerge, coursing alongside fresh thyme, oyster shell minerality and briny saltiness.
