Founded by Lucio Gomiero in 1980, Vignalta has become a beacon of excellence in the Euganean Hills. Their dedication and passion for the region have earned them numerous accolades in Italy and abroad. This winery has become a Vinous Media darling, who said:

Nestled in the heart of the Euganean Hills ("Colli Euganei"), Vignalta's vineyards thrive on mineral-rich volcanic soil and benefit from a mild climate with significant day-to-night temperature variations. This combination yields grapes of unparalleled quality, setting the stage for an extraordinary sparkling wine experience.

Vignalta is committed to environmental sustainability. As one of the first wineries in Italy to install a photovoltaic system, they lead the way in eco-conscious practices. This meticulous approach results in well-balanced grapes, vinified with minimalist enological techniques.

At Vignalta, they understand that great wine begins with excellent fruit in the vineyard. They meticulously explore different areas to cultivate various grape varieties, allowing their wines to express the diverse facets of the various cultivation zones. This ongoing research, blending empirical methods with scientific analysis, has led to the identification of various "crus." Two standout examples are the volcanic-soiled Mount Gemola vineyards and the sedimentary limestone flakes of Arquà Petrarca, yielding the "Gemola" and "Arquà" wines, each showcasing the influence of its unique terroir.

Passito is an Italian term literally translated as "sweet," passito is used in Italy to describe wines that have been made from dried grapes, in the appassimento method.

Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: 100% Orange Muscat. A sweet and supple “Fior d’Arancio” Muscat, with an amber color and aroma of candied orange and apricot.

Reviews

Aromatic with orange blossom, honey, chamomile and ginger. Rich, dense and exotic on the palate with marmalade notes and dried mango. Good acid brings balance. ~95 Decanter
