The owners of Ch. Domeyne are Claire and Gonzague Lurton. If the names aren't familiar, they should be. You most assuredly know their other properties which include:
- Durfort-Vivens - 2nd Growth Margaux
- Chateau Ferriere - 3rd Growth Margaux
- Haut Bages Liberal - 5th Growth Pauillac
- Acaibo - Sonoma Estate
This is a power couple in Bordeaux. They are leading the charge to natural and biodynamic farming at their properties. The Lurton family is globally known throughout the wine world. The property was acquired in 2006 and investment, renovation, and improvements have led to this remarkable 2015 release.
Blend: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 60% Merlot
Reviews
A very impressive wine with a ton of tannic power, but also great balance thanks to the fresh acidity. A beautifully made wine that you could easily mistake for a classed growth. With more complexity this would rate even more highly. You can drink it now, but there’s no hurry with this one! ~93JS
