About this Wine
Ripasso is a term that derives from the refermentation of the grapes on the Amarone lees, which gives the wine a deeper color, body, and dried fruit flavors. Aging is in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months.
Tasting Notes: Complex and intense of blackberries, fruit juice, with some notes of leather, cedar and spices. Medium-bodied, with fruit from Cà del Pipa vineyard that supplies that much more expensive Amarone.
Blend: Corvina Veronese and Corvinone 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5%
This mouthwatering red is medium-bodied and expressive, offering lightly chewy tannins and flavors of sun-dried cherry, strawberry preserves and star anise, with pleasing hints of herb and mineral on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 5,000 cases made. ~90 WS, Top 100 Wines of 2017
