About the Wine

Taub Family Vineyards, has deep roots dating back to just days after the repeal of Prohibition. Today, this award-winning winery is led by Marc D. Taub and his son Jake.

In 2013, Marc D. Taub acquired Heritance, a respected Napa Valley producer. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, blending heritage with new traditions. The name "Heritance" combines "heritage" and "inheritance," symbolizing the enduring legacy and the start of new traditions.

Taub Family Vineyards focuses on crafting wines that reflect the purity of their vineyard sites. They exclusively use mid-valley sites in Rutherford, Oakville, Mount Veeder, and Howell Mountain.

Tom Hinde has been the lead winemaker for Taub Family Vineyards since 2012. Tom is a renowned wine industry expert with over three decades of experience in vineyard cultivation, winery management, and artisan winemaking. He has held prestigious roles, including President and Director of Winemaking at Flowers Vineyard and Winery, and General Manager at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, where he contributed to the success of Lokoya, Cardinale, Stonestreet Winery, and Vérité Estate. His expertise and dedication are key to the exceptional quality of Taub Family Vineyards wines.

This exceptional wine is made from grapes sourced from premium mid-valley vineyard sites, creating a quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose reveals ripe dark fruits like cherries and blackberries, complemented by hints of baking spice, cedar, vanilla, and roasted notes from 18 months of aging in 100% French Oak

Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels

Tasting Notes

94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit VerdotDeep ruby color. On the nose, this wine has ripe dark fruit such as cherries and blackberries. Oak is well integrated with baking spice and subtle cedar notes. The medium, chewy tannins display a long flavorful finish. Pairs well with grilled red meats (especially steak), hearty stews and hard cheeses.

Critical Reviews

A late arrival shows that the trip was worthwhile in this tasty glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that arrived for judging just in the nick of time. Correct aromas and flavors, with balanced oak spice, moderate grip and a long finish. A fine beef accompaniment at a fair price! A Double Gold Award winner at the 2019 Toast of the Coast International Wine Competition. ~94 Rich Cook, Wine Review Online

Cassis, cherry reduction and red licorice notes are packed together in this red, carried by solid, savory-tinged structure that adds needed energy through the finish. Best from 2022 through 2027. 2,500 cases made. ~91 Wine Spectator
