Donne Fittipaldi found its roots in 2004 when the Fittipaldi Menarini family decided to plant vines in Bolgheri, the heart of Tuscany. Today, the Estate produces a variety of wines from Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Orpicchio. The goal of Donne Fittipaldi has always been to produce wines distinguished by great elegance and harmony and to capture the personality of the world-famous Bolgheri's terroir. This female-owned estate crafts wines with great purity and beauty and is one of the most elegant and powerful expressions from this renowned region. The wines are as beautiful as the women behind the label and whose exceptional quality brings harmony to the world.

The philosophy of Donne Fittipaldi aims to blend wine with art and, since the beginning, the estate partnered with friend and artist Giorgio Restelli to create and design all of the labels. "Donne Fittipaldi” become the image of the company itself. The goal of Donne Fittipaldi is to consider the bottle as a frame sustaining a work of art or an artistic project.

Tasting Notes

 Intense Ruby Red. On the nose, the wine is fruity with notes of cherry, cassis, dried herbs, and discreet underlying spices. The palate shows great freshness and harmony. A classic, elegant Red, with round and silky tannins that results in a pleasant and long-lasting finish.

Critical Reviews

Aromas of dark fruit, smoke, and walnuts follow through to a full body with lots of ripe fruit and round tannins. Powerful and flavorful. Needs time to soften. Always outstanding Bolgheri. Try after 2022. ~93 James Suckling

The Donne Fittipaldi 2018 Bolgheri Rosso is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot (aged in barrique for a brief six months). This is the estate's entry-level red; however, it offers a noticeable level of power, concentration, and black fruit richness. The intensity matches that of a Bolgheri Superiore, giving you more bang for your buck. Blackberry and dried plum segue to toasted oak, sweet cedar, and barbecue smoke, making it a handsome choice for some braised beef ribs. Crafted by an all-female management team, this wine shows a firm hand. An ample 50,000 bottles were made and each offers excellent value. ~91 Robert Parker
