2019 Damilano Cerequio Barolo Piedmont 6pk 6x750ml

Damilano is one of Barolo's foundational names — the family's been growing vines in the Langhe since 1890, back when Giuseppe Borgogno started working these steep hillsides.

When Giacomo Damilano took over in 1935, he turned a small farm into one of the region's most respected estates, building quality into every part of the operation. Today, more than 130 years later, his grandchildren Paolo, Mario, and Guido run the winery with the same meticulous standards that made the Damilano name synonymous with serious Barolo.

Cerequio is one of Barolo's prized crus — a south-facing amphitheater of vines sheltered from northern winds by the high ridges of La Morra. The microclimate is nearly perfect for Nebbiolo, and the deep soils here give wines with serious structure and tannin, the kind that need time. Roberto Voerzio, one of the region's most revered winemakers, singles out Cerequio for its aromatics — particularly the pure, lifted smell of cherries that defines the vineyard.

2019 is one of the decade's most celebrated vintages in Barolo — balanced, expressive, loaded with energy. This bottling shows all of it: pressed berry, grilled herb, crushed flower, and that signature cherry core Voerzio talks about. It's supple and creamy for a young Barolo, but there's structure underneath — firm, racy tannins and beautiful length. Only 2,700 bottles were made.
