About The Wine

For most American wine drinkers, Burgundy sits behind an intimidating wall of cryptic village names and sky-high prices. Côte de Beaune-Villages is the insider's shortcut — a regional appellation that lets producers blend Pinot Noir from up to 14 villages along the celebrated Côte de Beaune slope, giving you the silky elegance and savory complexity that define great Burgundian Pinot Noir at a price that won't stop your heart.

Maison André Goichot has been a quiet powerhouse in this category since 1947, when André-Marcel Goichot started a small négociant house near Meursault with, in his words, nothing but empty bottles and a dream. Three generations later, the family still runs the show from their state-of-the-art winery in Beaune, working directly with growers from Chablis to the Côte Chalonnaise, and sourcing from their own 35 hectares of estate vineyards across some of Burgundy's most prized terroirs.

The 2022 vintage is the kind of year Burgundy lovers will talk about for decades. Wine Advocate called it "extraordinary" and scored it 95 points as a vintage. Consistent, ripe, and fresh across both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, 2022 delivered abundant wines with concentrated fruit, vibrant aromatics, and the structure to drink beautifully young while still rewarding some cellaring. Goichot's Côte de Beaune-Villages is fermented four weeks in vat, then aged 100% in oak barrels for 12 months — a classic Burgundian treatment that amplifies red berry fruit, earthy undergrowth, and silky texture.

Think of it as the wine you reach for on a Tuesday when you want something miles better than a weeknight deserves: pour it alongside roast chicken, pork tenderloin, braised veal, or a simple plate of charcuterie and soft cheeses, and let it show you why Burgundy is Burgundy.

100% Pinot Noir.

A straightforward ruby-red color with hints of mauve. The nose is classic Côte de Beaune — red berries (cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry) lifted by gentle notes of forest floor, humus, and undergrowth.

The palate is round and flattering, with vibrant red fruit, silky tannins, and a fine backbone of acidity that carries the wine and gives it genuine aging potential. Fermented four weeks in vat, then aged 100% in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Drink now through 2027; serve at 16–18°C (slightly cool cellar temperature).
