Established in the 1920s by Robert Dauvissat and refined over three generations, this esteemed domaine continues to captivate the palates of wine connoisseurs and critics alike.  

The journey of Domaine Vincent Dauvissat began nearly a century ago, with Robert Dauvissat laying the foundation for what would become a beacon of Chablis winemaking. His son, René, solidified the Domaine's reputation, and today, Vincent Dauvissat carries the torch with unwavering dedication and passion. 

Spanning 30 acres of prime vineyard land, Vincent Dauvissat's holdings are a testament to the unique and coveted terroir of Chablis. The La Forest vineyard, in particular, boasts a perfect southern exposure and Kimmeridgian soil, renowned for producing wines of exceptional minerality and depth. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, yield grapes that are hand-harvested and meticulously selected to ensure only the finest fruit makes it into the bottle.

Vincent Dauvissat's winemaking philosophy is rooted in tradition and respect for nature. Employing sustainable, organic, and biodynamic farming methods, Vincent allows the vineyard to express itself fully. The vinification process is equally careful, with fermentation taking place in a combination of enameled steel vats and aged oak barrels. This approach imparts a subtle complexity to the wine, enhancing its natural flavors without overshadowing them.

Due to the high demand among France’s top restaurateurs, Domaine Vincent Dauvissat wines are a rare find on the international market. The 2022 Vaillons 1er Cru Chablis is no exception. 

Vaillons is a small cru that features 8 distinct lieux-dits. With a predominantly limestone soil base on hard Portlandian limestone, it encapsulates the diversity of Chablis terroir in one appellation.

2022 was an incredible vintage for Burgundy. Vinous Media blessed this year with a 96 point review, and said: "The style of 2022 is primed for early consumption, more than 2019 or 2020. The 2022 Burgundy vintage offers a bounty for those with a passion for its wines. "

The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a rather strict nose, backward with crushed stone and fleeting white flowers. The palate has a lovely rondeur on the entry with white peach and nectarine, those deep clayey soils giving depth and persistence to the finish. Quite powerful, but it will need time. ~94 Vinous Media

Bursting with notes of white flowers, orange zest, nutmeg and iodine, the 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with bright acids and a long, expansive and perfumed finish. A mere 200 meters from the meager soils of Sechet, this is a site with more clay. A more voluminous expression, rounder and mouth-filling, with a note of phenolics as much as freshness. Tangerines with hints of stone fruit and nuts. An easy wine to love, without quite the pixelated freshness and exquisite detail of the Sechets. ~93 James Suckling
