About The Wine

Domaine des Granges is run by 3rd generation winemaker, Yannick Paquet. The history of this Chateau dates back to the 12th century when it belonged to the Seigneurie des Chaintré, one of the oldest families in the Macon region.

Yannick took over from his father, Jean-Paul, and runs the estate with a fanatic's attention to detail: organically farmed clay-and-limestone vineyards, hand-harvested fruit, and natural-yeast fermentations.

The wine is partially aged in oak barrels, giving it the rounded mouthfeel and gentle vanilla notes that mark serious white Burgundy — without the price tag.

100% Chardonnay.

Bright pale gold in the glass, with a nose that opens on Red Delicious apple, fresh lemon, white peach, and a whisper of acacia and honeysuckle. A subtle hint of vanilla and smoke from partial barrel aging frames the fruit.

The palate is rounded and creamy, with ripe orchard fruit, citrus, and almond, lifted by the bright acidity and limestone minerality you only get from the Mâconnais. Long, fresh finish.

THE PRODUCER

Domaine des Granges

Domaine des Granges is a small, family-style French winery rooted in traditional viticulture, typically focusing on expressing its local terroir through approachable, well-balanced wines.

Like many “Granges” estates across regions such as the Loire or Languedoc, it emphasizes hands-on vineyard work, modest yields, and a connection between grape variety and place, often producing fresh, fruit-driven wines designed for everyday enjoyment rather than heavy extraction or oak influence. While details can vary by specific estate under this name, the common thread is a commitment to authenticity, regional character, and accessible winemaking.
