About The Wine

Sean Minor's partnership with Rossi Ranch began in 2015 with a handshake at Will Bucklin's Harvest Party — the kind of deal that still happens in Sonoma when two people who know great vineyards recognize something worth committing to. Rossi Ranch sits in the warm heart of Sonoma Valley, organically farmed for over fifteen years, pruned late to dodge spring frost, and harvested dead last each vintage. The fruit comes in wild.

The Invited Series draws inspiration from Sean's tagline "Always Invited" — small-production wines that reflect his vision and the varietals he's chasing in a given year. This Grenache is one of two releases in the series, fewer than 650 cases total across both wines. It's a true expression of Rossi's wild herbaceousness: the briary, peppery spiciness and aromatic essence come directly from the native plants surrounding the vines.

Grenache from Sonoma Valley doesn't play the overripe fruit-bomb game. This bottling shows what the variety does when it's grown right: vibrant red fruit character, spice, and a refined texture that shifts as you drink it. The first sip is soft and inviting; then ripe tannins firm up with well-measured grip. Red and black fruit tones run through savory and briary notes, a touch of oak in the finish, remarkable complexity even in its first year.

Aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and spice open onto a silky palate with smooth tannins and balanced acidity. The texture is layered — soft at first, then structured. Bright cherry and raspberry meet subtle earthy undertones, the kind of detail that makes you pour a second glass to confirm what you're tasting. The wine carries a wild, untamed spirit, exactly what you want from organically farmed fruit off a late-harvest vineyard in the warm pocket of Sonoma Valley.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

California Grenache is often simple in its overt fruitiness, but this exemplary rendition. shows remarkable complexity even in its first year. Red and black fruit tones are joined by savory and briary notes, and the texture is layered, providing a sense. of inviting softness before firming up with well-measured grip from ripe tannins and a touch of oak on the finish. ~95 Tasting Panel

This savory Rhone blend brings aromas of spicy plum and olive on the nose, with flavors of raspberry, sage and barrel spice on the palate in framework of grippy tannin that will need some time in the cellar to soften. ~91 Wine Enthusiast
