About the Wine

When you think of Rutherford Dust, big names like Inglenook, Caymus, Heitz Cellar, and Scarecrow come to mind. These wines, often priced well above $100 and sometimes soaring to $500, hail from one of the world's most coveted terroirs. What ties them together with Tori Magna? Amazing terroir, exceptional quality, luscious taste. What sets them apart? The price tag.

Tori Magna is on a mission to conquer the wine world. At its helm is winemaker Sean Foster, an expert winemaker with a string of international awards. From studying Biochemical Engineering at UCLA to crafting fine wines, Sean's journey is a tale of passion and expertise.

The Theron label—and Cask No. 51 in particular—operates like a winemaker’s signature: not bound by varietal rules, but shaped by vision, intuition, and intent. It’s a proprietary blend by design, built from the pieces of Napa that matter most: power from the mountains, polish from the valley floor, and a fruit core that could only come from this place. With no grape list on the label, the wine speaks through its style—dark, structured, and unapologetically Napa.

2023 Theron Proprietary Red is the clearest expression of that philosophy yet: bold, sculpted, and confidently expressive of the region that defined it.

The 2023 Napa Valley vintage isn’t just another great year – it’s the year that will be etched in history. Wine experts are calling it "the vintage of a lifetime," and for good reason. The perfect blend of cool temperatures, morning fog, and balanced sunlight created conditions so exceptional that they’re being compared to Bordeaux's iconic 1961 vintage. As The Wine Independent put it, 2023 is "a winemaker's dream in terms of wine style." Wine Bible author Karen MacNeil calls it "one of the most phenomenal vintages ever in Napa Valley." This is Napa at its finest, with wines of depth, power, and elegance that will be the talk of the wine world for decades to come.

Tasting Notes

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot.

Theron Cask No. 51 bursts open with a dark, brooding wave of blackberry, black cherry, plum, and cassis. Mocha, cedar, warm spice, and a touch of vanilla roll in behind it, lifted by a graphite edge that gives the wine its Napa swagger.

The palate is full-bodied and deeply layered—rich dark fruit upfront, cocoa and baking spice in the mid-palate, and toasted oak threading everything together.

Firm, polished tannins bring structure without sacrificing silk, while a clean line of acidity keeps the power in check. The finish is long and confident, trailing blackberry, dark chocolate, and espresso. This is Napa depth and density, delivered with precision and effortless composure.

Critical Reviews

The Cask No. 51 from Tori Magna is an opulent and luxurious red wine, offering flourishes of blackberry, plum and black cherry fruit, interwoven with slivers of dark chocolate. Silky, elongated tannins frame a plush palate, while a firm spine of acidity keeps the wine lifted and elegant. Noble fruit character is balanced by deep forest earth and loam, giving it both richness and poise. ~ 94 Decanter
