Beautiful aromas on the nose, blackcurrants and dark chocolate. Fleshy and ripe while being so juicy and lifted, great energy and focus here, still touches of oak in the coffee, tobacco and clove elements, but the fruit has purity and this retains a much brighter, more focused expression than in some previous EP samples. Crunchy, crisp, lively yet still carrying that core of power and drive. If anything still a bit bitter on the finish but this will settle. 3.55pH. Ageing 18 months, 40% new barrels. ~ 94 Decanter

The 2025 Grand Mayne is impressive. Dark, layered and vibrant, Grand Mayne has so much to offer. Dark-toned fruit, new leather, licorice, mocha and a kiss of French oak all meld together in the glass. This big, broad-shouldered Saint-Émilion displays very fine balance and tons of character. Solid, well-framed and dense. Dark berry and warm spice aromas follow through to a medium body with chewy tannins. Plenty of purple fruit character on the palate, with a chewy finish. ~ 92-93 James Suckling
