---

Chateau Rauzan-Segla stands among Margaux's most storied Second Growth estates, its roots reaching back to 1661 and its vineyards occupying some of the appellation's finest gravelly ridges. The 2025 vintage arrives from one of the Left Bank's most privileged terroirs — deep Gunzian gravel that drains fast and forces vines to dig, concentrating fruit and building structure.

This is classic Margaux in the modern era: Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, backed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a whisper of Petit Verdot. The gravelly soils here coax out elegance and precision — wines that marry power with restraint, built for the cellar but approachable young.

The 2025 is offered en primeur, before the critics weigh in and before the secondary market sets the floor. It's the play for buyers who know the estate, trust the site, and want in at release pricing.

For collectors building a Bordeaux cellar or buyers stepping into Left Bank futures for the first time, this is how you secure allocation from a producer that matters, in an appellation that's defined fine wine for centuries.

Classic Margaux structure: dark cassis and blackcurrant, fine-grained tannins, the tension and lift that come from gravel-grown Cabernet. Built to cellar a decade or more, approachable in youth with time in the decanter.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

Blackberry, dark cherry and crushed stone notes with a medium to full body, extremely fine and polished with a long and pretty finish. Racy and precise. Fresh and fine. Love the floral notes in the nose. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot, and .5% Cabernet Franc. ~ 96-97 James Suckling

The 2025 Rauzan-Ségla is totally seamless in the glass. Dark-toned fruit, mocha, new leather, licorice, menthol, and dried herbs infuse the palate with tremendous textural depth. The 2025 is of course very young. The year's natural concentration is its most evident signature at this time, but the rest will surely follow. Polished, supremely elegant tannins support the finish. What a stunner. Tasted two times. ~ 95-97 Vinous Media
