---Located on the limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, Chateau Tour Saint Christophe is a rising star in Bordeaux, recently elevated to Grand Cru Classé status in 2022. The estate, originally dating back to the 18th century, was revitalized in 2012 by Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen, who restored its historic dry-stone terraces—a rare feature in the region. These terraces, cascading down the hillsides, allow the vines to thrive in clay-limestone soils, fostering excellent drainage and imparting structure and minerality to the wine.

Spanning 20 hectares, the vineyard is planted primarily with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), a blend that embodies both richness and finesse. The vines, averaging 30 years in age, benefit from south-southwest exposure, ensuring optimal ripening and balance.

A deep, layered Saint-Émilion that balances intensity with refinement. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, and dark wild berries intertwine with notes of spice, tobacco, and fresh herbs. Hints of cocoa powder, blood orange, and crushed stone add depth and complexity. The palate is rich and expansive, with fine-grained tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish, showcasing both power and elegance in perfect harmony.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

Medium- to full-bodied with delineated dark fruit and precise, delicate tannins, showing good freshness, a wonderful silky texture, and a subtle saline note in the finish. ~95-96 James Suckling

Lovely aromatic expression on the nose, perfumed bramble and summer berry fruit combined. Crisp but sun-kissed, charming, full of brisk acidity and real energy. There’s focus and bite with cranberry fruit alongside mouthwatering blueberries. Feels a little tense still because of the acidity but there’s drive and excellent definition with a grip to the tannins that balances everything out. 3.35pH. A yield of 27hl/ha. One third of the wine aged in small oak vats and the rest in barrels. ~ 94 Decanter

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicate, precious wood spice, a hint of blackberries, black cherries, and some liquorice, candied mandarin zest. Juicy, tightly woven, dark berries, ripe tannins, mineral and persistent, good length, sure maturity potential. ~ 94 Falstaff

The 2025 Tour Saint Christophe is a stunner. Rich and explosive, the 2025 possesses remarkable depth and pure power. All the elements are so well balanced. Tour Saint Christophe is always a big wine, but the 2025 has an unusual level of finesse. Dark-toned fruit, leather, gravel, chocolate, and dried herbs caress the palate. Aging the Francs in a 20HL cask seems very well judged in moderating oak impact, something that has also been a signature here in the past. ~ 93-95 Vinous Media
