2025 Clos du Val Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley

Clos Du Val, French for “small vineyard estate of a small valley,” was founded in 1972 in the renowned Stags Leap District. The winery was first recognized for its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at the famed Judgment of Paris in 1976, establishing its place as one of Napa Valley’s most iconic winery estates.

Tasting of 1986. Still family-owned today, Clos Du Val farms 350 acres of estate vineyards in the Stags Leap District, Carneros, and Yountville appellations and continues to craft wines of balance and complexity, showcasing the fruit from the outstanding terroir.

The 2025 vintage in Napa was one of those seasons winemakers quietly dream about — cooler overall conditions, ample rainfall, and the absence of major heat events meant the vines never had to fight. Fruit ripened gradually, allowing aromatics and acidity to develop without pushing sugars too quickly — exactly the conditions that make a mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc sing. Whites from 2025 are being described as bringing energy and precision, and this wine is a pretty good argument for why.
