1989 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir
About the Wine
Rare. This is the second release from the now famous Drouhin Oregon property.
Reviews
Drouhin's 1989 is significantly better than their debut release, the 1988. The color is dark ruby, and the nose offers up aromas of sweet black cherries, spicy oak, and herbs. If I had this wine blind, I would be thinking of a top-notch Pinot Noir from the Cotes de Beaune, not from Oregon's Willamette Valley. On the palate, the wine exhibits excellent richness, a lush, velvety texture, adequate acidity, soft tannins, and a long, intense finish. Drinkable now, this wine should continue to age nicely for at least 4-5 years. Impressive! ~88WA
