2012 Tapiz Las Notas de Jean Claude Berrouet Mendoza Bordeaux Blend
About the wine
From a Single Vineyard from San Pablo Estate, Uco Valley, Mendoza, comes this Argentine Petrus from Fabian Valenzuela and Jean Claude Berrouet, who was chief winemaker at Ch. Petrus until 2007. After 44 vintages of making the most expensive and famous Merlot in the world, he started to consult with Bodegas Tapiz. Ch. Petrus 2012 trades at about $2500/btl. Here, now you can taste his masterwork for much less. The label is a picture of Jean Claude Berrouet's winemaking notebook.
Reviews
This is really exciting new wine. Love the intensity and richness with lovely ripe fruit and lightly toasted oak character. Black olive and berry. Full body, firm and silky finish. 91% merlot with petit verdot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Better in 2019. 95JS
