A wonderfully expressive nose of sourdough, acacia, citrus peel, apricots and honeycomb. Some pineapple and grapefruit. It’s explosive on the palate, with mouthwatering acidity and so much tension. Tight bubbles. Drives forward with energy. Chardonnay and pinot noir from the six founding crus of the house: Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Mailly-Champagne, Verzenay and Verzy. 3.5g/L dosage. Disgorged June 2023. Drink or hold. ~96 James Suckling
An elegant Champagne, with tension and focus to the flavors of baked pear, grapefruit peel, pine, salted almond and crystallized honey as they mesh with a spine of fine china–like acidity and satiny mousse. Minerally on the lasting, clean-cut finish, with accents of smoke, chalk and oyster shell. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2038. 1,500 cases made, 130 cases imported. ~94 Wine Spectator

THE PRODUCER
Henriot
Laurent Fresnet is Henriot's cellar master. Laurent Fresnet was named 'Sparkling Winemaker of the Year' by International Wine Challenge in 2015 and 2016. Champagne Henriot was founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot. The prestige cuvée was known as Hemera since 2005. Cuvée des Enchanteleurs became known as Hemera from 2005, reflecting a change in climate and a renewed focus on harvest precision. Champagne Henriot was founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, a widow who was also a vinegrower. Apolline Henriot's vineyards were located in three Pinot Noir Grand Cru villages in the Montagne de Reims: Verzy, Verzenay, and Mailly-Champagne. In 1880, Paul Henriot married Marie Marguet, a young vinegrower from a family owning Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, bringing three Chardonnay Grand Cru villages to the estate: Chouilly, Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
