Situated between the famous village of Saint-Emilion and the vineyards of Pomerol, Château Lagrave owns 9 hectares of Grand Cru vines, averaging 25 years in age. The terroir is exceptional, distinguished by the complexity of its soils, the mixture of gravelly sands on the surface, intermixed with clays and iron deposits in the sub-soil. These elements coupled with expert french winemaking give the wine a wide aromatic palette.
The 2015 Chateau Lagrave is born from a selection of the best plots, the vinification of their premier wine is entirely carried out in concrete vats. The maceration lasts for about a month while pump-overs and punching down allow them to extract the maximum potential of the fruit. The wine is then aged in traditional 225 liters French oak barrels with the aim of integrating harmony, elegance, and complexity into the wine.
Tasting Notes: 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Full-bodied with good length on the palate, the tannins are dense, silky, and smooth. It is a wine built to last, decant for one hour before drinking.
