Love is born from the foundation of a family. The 2015 Sullivan Family Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon was meticulously produced with love and care. The Sullivan family has displayed passion and expertise for delivering high-quality wines for over 48 years.
The Estate was founded in 1972 by James ("Jim") O’Neil Sullivan, a visionary and pioneer of Rutherford, a premier Napa Valley appellation for Cabernet Sauvignon. Jim's passion for creating great wine predated the 1976 Judgement of Paris which famously recognized Napa Valley wines as among the best in the world. These are the wines that make Napa special and one of the most well-acclaimed regions in the world!
Boutique wineries in Napa have developed a cult following, but you don't hear about it all that much unless you're "in the know." These wines rarely make it to the market because they're often sold exclusively to wine club members at the cellar door. Thankfully, we were able to get our hands on a small allocation of this wine to make available just for you. This is your opportunity to discover the enchantment of a boutique Napa winery!
Tasting Notes: 2015 was a ripe vintage. Hints of black cherry and plum lead the way with subtle dark chocolate and sweet vanilla notes. This wine is juicy showcasing a plush roundness, coating the entire palate. True to its Rutherford heritage, the tannins are resolved and give a sense of cocoa powder dancing across the tongue.
Very pretty and aromatic with flowers, currants, and sandalwood. Sage, too. Full body, integrated fine tannins, and a beautiful finish. Drink in 2020. ~94JS
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is more upfront and flamboyant, with sexy notes of sweet cassis, tobacco, and violets. With medium to full body, not a hard edge to be found, and fruit galore, drink this pleasure-bent beauty over the coming decade or more. ~92JD
