Chief winemaker Warren Gibson joined the team in 1997 and has continually produce sensational wines. In 2005, he was award New Zealand Winemaker of the Year, from Winestate Magazine and again in 2006 was awarded the Winemaker of the Year at Hawkes Bay Wine Show. Tasting notes: Gentle flavors and aromas of lime, citrus and lemongrass compliment the distinct aroma of stone-fruit. A mineral element gives presence to a Sancerre-like textural character in the wine. The fresh acidity is balanced by a tiny amount of retained sweetness.
This offers ripe nectarine and pineapple, showing ample weight for its modest alcohol level. Hints of snow pea and melon add nuance, while the plump body and succulent, citrusy finish beg for another sip. ~90WE
