About the Wine
Pax Mahle landed in Napa Valley in 1997. Following a stint as a wine buyer at Dean & Deluca, he started producing wines. He particularly focused on cool climate Syrah. With the launch of Wind Gap in Petaluma, he began to focus on lower alcohol Pinot Noir sourced from organic and low-intervention vineyards.

The 2015 Pinot Noir Sun Chase Vineyard is superb. Ample, ripe and inviting, the 2015 captures the radiance and suppleness of this warm, early-ripening vintage and well-exposed site. The flavors are red-toned and racy, with soft contours and silk tannins that only add to the wine's considerable appeal. ~95VM
