About the Wine

Château Tour Puyblanquet is located in Saint Emilion Grand Cru, in the commune of Saint Etienne de Lisse. This beautiful estate is located in the high rent districut, next to Grand Cru Classified Château Faugères and Château Valandrau, where you can fing wines at around $165 or more!

Tour Puyblanquet is an ancient 19-acre family-owned Château, that dates back more than 100 years. The vines are planted in outstanding clayey and limestone soils and the vines average 48 years.

This superb wine was born in a stellar vintage for Saint-Emilion, that was awarded 98 points by Vinous Media. This is what they have to say about 2016:

"The 2016s are absolutely remarkable wines. The word that comes to mind, unfortunately so often overused, is balance. The best 2016s are absolutely harmonious, with the tannins barely perceptible at all. The 2016s also have tremendous energy and bright, acid-driven profiles, with many wines playing more in the red-fruit area of the flavor spectrum. Excellence is highly correlated with the quality of the site. The 2016 Right Bank reds are remarkably polished and sensual."

Don't miss this opportunity. Only 50 cases were imported by BHW directly. At this price, we don't expect it to last long.

Tasting Notes: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful and elegant aromas of flowers and red fruits. Full-bodied, tannic, and chewy, the tannins are nicely enveloped in ripe fruit. Amazing aging potential.

Reviews

Focused fruit, such as raspberries and blackberries with chalk and flowers. Full body, firm and chewy tannins, and a long and defined finish. Quite muscular. Try after 2021. ~92 James Suckling.
