The palate is medium-bodied with supple, silky tannins, offering layers of currants, darker fruits, and earthy tobacco notes. There’s a nice balance of fresh brightness with a subtle smokiness and floral nuances. While enjoyable now, this wine has the structure to age for 10-15 years, developing even more depth with time.

The 2016 Croix de Beauséjour is a serious second wine endowed with quite a bit of structure that should allow it to age gracefully for 10-15 years. Smoke, scorched earth, tobacco, leather, licorice, spice and a whole host of dark flavors give the Croix its decidedly somber, brooding personality. The blend is approximately 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, with the Franc giving the wine its aromatic and structural signatures.
