About the Wine
La Perliere is crafted by Maison François Martenot, a specialist in Burgundy and Beaujolais wines located at Vignoles near Beaune. Historically rooted in one of the most prestigious wine-growing regions in the world, it reaps the benefit of its excellent reputation and flawless know-how. The 2016 Hautes Cotes de Nuits displays classic characteristics of the village; earth-driven, dried rose peddles, rich, elegant, and an absolute steal at this price. What are you waiting for?
Maison François Martenot proposes three ranges of wine covering the region’s main appellations with nearly 100 appellations: AOP Régionales, AOP Villages, AOP Grands Crus et AOP Premiers Crus. The wines are carefully selected and blended to reflect the full spectrum of character in the Burgundy terroir.
The first book ever dedicated to the wines of Burgundy was written in 1723, author Abbé Claude Arnoux describes the wine of the Hautes Cotes de Nuits as “full of fire, uplifting and light, almost all genius.” A region once thought to consumed by the forest has made a great resurgence over the years. The Hautes Cote is gently settled on the elevated slopes of Burgundy overlooking the villages from Gevery to the hill of Corton. This appellation offers exceptional value and the wines are meant to be enjoyed in their youth.
