About the Wine
Do you love aromatic white wines but you're tired of Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Gris? Let us introduce you to a rare white blend from Portugal. Portugal's most well known white wine is Vinho Verde, typically an affordable, easy-drinking, summer wine. Vinhas Altas is no exception with a blend of Arinto, Trajadura, and Loureiro this wine with its low ABV and crisp refreshing finish is ready to be drunk by the case.
Vinho Verde literally translates to green wine. The name was given with respect to the region of Portugal that it hails from. In the north of the country with heavy Atlantic influence, the region remains cool allowing white wine grapes to dominate the vineyards. The results of these grapes coming up in such a cool maritime climate is energetic wines made with crystalline purity.
Tasting Notes: White Wine. This wine is almost silver in color it is so lightly hued. The nose is full of citrus fruits and light florals. On the palate, this is just slightly off-dry which complements the bright acidity and barely present sparkle.
