About the Wine
La Perliere is crafted by Maison François Martenot, a specialist in Burgundy and Beaujolais wines located at Vignoles near Beaune. Historically rooted in one of the most prestigious wine-growing regions in the world, it reaps the benefit of its excellent reputation and flawless know-how. The 2017 Pouilly-Fuisse displays classic characteristics of the village; mineral-driven, dried white florals, rich, elegant, and an absolute steal at this price. What are you waiting for?
Maison François Martenot proposes three ranges of wine covering the region’s main appellations with nearly 100 appellations: AOP Régionales, AOP Villages, AOP Grands Crus et AOP Premiers Crus. The wines are carefully selected and blended to reflect the full spectrum of character in the Burgundy terroir.
The Mâconnais, Burgundy's southernmost region, is the gateway to the enchanting land of the world's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Just last year one of the Mâconnais most prestigious sub-regions, Pouilly-Fuisse, had 22 individual vineyards receive official recognition as 1er cru or 'first-class' terroirs. But over the years, the vineyards have largely remained the same as this region continues to get overlooked for Bugundy's more premier appellations.
Tasting Notes
100% Chardonnay. White gold color with green reflections. The nose expresses aromas of pineapple. It reveals a fresh minerality framed by yellow fruits and apples. The texture is sharp with a beautiful aromatic persistency in the end.
