Burgundy is one of the most exciting wine regions in the world! The Chardonnay is the “Queen of the Whites” and here is where this beautiful grape achieves its maximum potential. It's no secret that many wine experts and savvy wine drinkers affirm that Burgundy is home to some of the best white wines in the world!
Hidden among the Vézelay hills is Domaine Camu Freres. Vézelay is a medieval French town, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. In this beautiful town, you will find various tourist attractions, like museums, monuments, and churches that date back to before the Middle Ages. But outside of all the architectural part (which is beautiful by the way!) We have the wines! Wine has been an important part of Vézelay's history, dating back to Gallo-Roman times when all the vineyards were owned by the Dukes of Burgundy.
Domaine Camu Freres was acquired by the Camu brothers in 1999, hence the name, which translated means “The Camu brothers”. In 2008 it became the property of Baron Patrick de Ladoucdette. Ladoucette is a wine empire in France. It is made up of 13 different Châteaux, distributed in the most acclaimed wine regions throughout the country, such as Burgundy, Provence, Champagne, and the Loire Valley.
Domaine Camu Freres is a small 34-acre vineyard, set in soils composed of clay and limestone, where the most beloved grapes in Burgundy are planted: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vintners take special care in terms of the quality of the grape, with low yields and a very small harvest that results in grapes with great concentration. The wines reflect the love, patience, and respect for the terroir, and you will taste powerful and elegant wines that are a pleasure to drink!
If you’re a white wine drinker and a Chardonnay lover, 2018 Domaine Camu Freres Bourgogne Chardonnay won’t disappoint you! This wine, full of exciting floral and citric aromas and with beautiful acidity, will be your new go-to wine!
