About The Wine

Same owners as Château Le Bon Pasteur in Pomerol and Sloan Estate in Napa. That's the pedigree behind this bottle.

Godswalk is the wine Tarrawatta makes when it wants to prove a point. It's the flagship — a selection of the best barrels from the estate's Ambervale vineyard, high up in the cool Eden Valley, where the nights hold onto acidity that lowland Barossa fruit loses.

Craig Isbel makes it. He spent fifteen years at Torbreck before this. He knows what a great Barossa red is supposed to feel like, and he built this one to sit next to bottles that cost a lot more.

This is the 2018 — the first release, ever. A Shiraz-led blend with Cabernet Sauvignon for spine. Suckling and Jeb Dunnuck both landed on 96 points. Vinous gave it 95.

Drinkable now if you decant it. Better in a few years. Built to hold for a decade-plus.

Roughly 1,800 bottles left the winery. When they're gone, this exact wine doesn't come back.

Full-bodied and layered, with plum, blackberry and blueberry up front, moving into walnut, cedar, tobacco, dark chocolate and a savory note of black truffle. Woodsmoke, violet and vanilla add lift. Polished, building tannins give it energy and form; long, spiced finish. Decant now, or cellar 10+ years.
