Situated around the city of Bernkastel, which is more than 1000 years old, the Badstube vineyard has a gentler slope and richer soil than the other vineyards belonging to the Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler estate.  Natural springs provide all the water the vines need to produce full-bodied, assertive wines that are ideally suited to the vinification of great Kabinett and Spatlese wines. Our Badstube Riesling is the perfect partner for veal or turkey. Try it with chicken as well as sushi.

German Riesling is one of the most sought-after wines within professional wine circles. Thanks to its versatility and aging capacity, sommeliers and wine aficionados hold high praise for this unique and food-friendly wine. Nicknamed the "naked grape", Riesling perfectly captures the terroir and showcases the unique sense of place, unlike any other grape.

Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler Estate is a Riesling expert. This winery is located in Moselle in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate but has different vineyards in some of the best areas of Bernkastel-Wittlich. The particular care that they put both in the vines and in the vinification process, results in extraordinary wines, and thanks to the diversity of terroirs from which the grapes are sourced, each of their wines have a unique and exciting character.

The 2019 vintage is looking to be one for the ages. James Suckling stated: “The 2019 vintage is the best vintage I have ever tasted for German Riesling in my four-decade career. The 2019 wines, from dry to classic style with natural grape sweetness are simply astonishing quality, which means 2019 is one of the greatest vintages of modern times and will be remembered for decades, possibly generations".
