2021 Addendum The Hills Block 6 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Napa Valley

Addendum is the Fess Parker family's Napa Valley project. Having built its name on highly regarded Burgundian and Rhône varietals in Santa Barbara County, the family's second generation expanded on Fess's vision — leveraging long-term relationships with committed Napa growers to create a limited, stand-alone collection of Bordeaux-varietal wines sourced from some of the most prestigious and established vineyard holdings in the Napa Valley.

The Hills — Block 6 is a single block in the heart of Rutherford. Addendum's Rutherford bottling comes from Block 6 of the celebrated Hills vineyard farmed by Round Pond Estate — prized valley-floor fruit where Cabernet develops the famous 'Rutherford dust': a savory cocoa-and-cedar earthiness found nowhere else in Napa.

2021 was a stellar, low-yield vintage in Napa Valley. A dry winter and a moderate growing season produced small berries with extraordinary concentration — a vintage critics rank among the valley's best in recent memory. Vinous rated this bottling 91 points and Jeb Dunnuck awarded it 90.
