The story of Vincent Vatan is one deeply rooted in the heart of Sancerre, where his family has been crafting exceptional wines for generations. Since 2005, Vincent has been at the helm of Domaine Chatelain, carrying forward a rich tradition while infusing his personal touch into every bottle. As the son-in-law of the renowned Jean-Claude Chatelain, Vincent has not only embraced the legacy but also expanded upon it.

In 2007, Vincent made a bold move by acquiring select plots of land characterized by flintstones, known as silex. It is in these unique soils that the grapes for this particular Pouilly-Fumé are grown, capturing the very essence of the terroir.

Today, the estate boasts 74 acres of vines in Pouilly-Fumé, meticulously spread across six of the seven communes of the appellation. The diversity of soil types across these vineyards provides Vincent with the flexibility to craft wines that are both balanced and quintessentially representative of Pouilly-Fumé.
