About The Wine

Beau Vigne flies under the radar as a "hidden gem" and small boutique winery producing only a few thousand cases a year. Fans and critics alike flock to the winery for its outstanding wines and genuine hospitality including famed critic Robert Parker who refers to Beau Vigne as "one of my favorite wineries."

Renowned winemaker Julien Fayard uses his expertise to produce wines that express pure, terroir-driven specificities and characteristics. Julien gained his knowledge and defined his core winemaking style from working at grand Chateaux in France such as Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte.

Beau Vigne's reputation rests on fruit sourced from Yountville and Rutherford, two of the smallest, most coveted vineyard sites in Napa Valley — the same neighborhoods behind cult Cabernets like Scarecrow and Dominus Estate. It's this fruit that built the flagship trio of Romeo, Juliet, and Guest Cottage, wines that carry SRPs of $125 to $250 and have scored 95-96 points. The Legacy is a lot selection pulled from those very same vineyard blocks — sharing its fruit, its hillsides, and its pedigree with Beau Vigne's most celebrated bottlings.

The Legacy is the bottling that carries all of that into a glass: a full-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet, dark-fruited and layered — plum, blackberry, mocha — with fine-grained tannins and enough spine to reward patience. Open it tonight next to something off the grill, or lay a few down and let the name do its job.

Beau Vigne's wines are highly esteemed and cherished among some of the world's most important winemakers, and they have achieved numerous high-accolades. Today, they are considered among Napa Valley's most acclaimed wines.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dark and layered: blood plum, wild blackberry, and lush berry preserves, with mocha, cocoa, oak spice, and a thread of tobacco leaf.

Full-bodied on the palate with fine, well-integrated tannins, balancing acidity, and a long, concentrated finish. Drink now with an hour's air, or hold — it's built for either.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

The ‘Legacy’ bottling is a lot selection from those that typically go into Beau Vigne's signature wines like Romeo, Juliet, and Guest Cottage. Fruit is sourced from reputable sites in Yountville and Rutherford, with additions of Syrah and Petite Sirah adding depth. Aged in approximately 30% new French oak, the wine exhibits excellent energy, tension, and vibrancy for the challenging 2022 vintage. It offers a plump dark fruit character and warm baking spices layered over salted dark chocolate notes, leading to an extended finish. This is an extremely easy-drinking and pleasure-packed wine. ~94 Decanter

The nose offers aromas of blood plums, mocha and oak spices. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and acidity, giving notes of wild blackberries, cocoa and tobacco leaves. Well integrated and concentrated. Drink or hold. ~ 91 James Suckling

THE PRODUCER

Beau Vigne

Established in 2002, Beau Vigne—French for "beautiful vineyard"—is a boutique winery nestled within Napa Valley's esteemed Atlas Peak appellation. Perched at 1,400 feet, the estate's prized vineyard flourishes in volcanic soils, yielding bold and luscious Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the essence of mountain-grown fruit. Over the years, Beau Vigne has garnered acclaim for its commitment to crafting influential luxury wines, with renowned winemakers such as Kirk Venge and Julien Fayard contributing their expertise. The winery's portfolio also includes prestigious red blends, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, sourced from Napa Valley's top vineyards. Visitors can experience these exceptional wines at the Maison Fayard tasting room, located at 1408 2nd Street in downtown Napa.
