Planeta is one of the most iconic, and well known producers in Sicily. Fun fact? The winery was even featured in the critically acclaimed TV Show The White Lotus.

Alessio Planeta, head of Planeta, has been named "Winemaker of the Year" worldwide by the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine through their "Wine Star Awards" in 2023. 

The family history of this Sicilian Estate goes back for more than 5 centuries, where in such a closed and traditional culture, the Planeta family is not afraid to innovate and modernize. Diego Planeta along with other top-notch wine consultants from Italy like Giacomo Tachis, Carlo Corino, Giampaolo Fabris, and Attilio Scienza, have managed to position Planeta as the reference point in Sicilian and Italian winemaking. Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is the heart and soul of this noble wine. Sourced from the stunning Dorilli estate, named after the legendary Dirillo river where Aeneas once landed, this wine is all about elegance and finesse. It's a perfect blend of Nero d’Avola and Frappato di Vittoria, two standout Iblean vines, with a touch of oak aging. This limited-edition wine is a must for fans of unique Italian labels, showcasing the special character of our land and history.

Tasting Notes

60% Nero d’Avola, 40% Frappato. The aromas of ripe black cherry combine with those of cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon. The tannin, ripe, soft and rounded, dissolves in the mouth thanks to an incredible softness of the fruit. The oriental spices mix within the complex flavours of smoked pancetta, cooked must, marjoram and prickly pear.
