About the Wine
The 2022 Victor Blachet Meursault comes from one of Burgundy's most storied white-wine villages—a place where Chardonnay has been refined to an art form for centuries. Since the 14th century, when the Dukes of Bourgogne controlled vast vineyards across the region, Burgundy wines have symbolized power, refinement, and exceptional taste. Victor Blachet carries that legacy forward today.
Meursault itself is surprisingly compact—just 2.5 miles north to south, less than a mile across. The village sits directly below a band of Premier Cru vineyards, with village-level parcels interwoven among and below those prestigious sites on the same slope. In Burgundy, that kind of proximity matters. It's why well-made village Meursault can echo the structure and complexity of wines that cost five times as much.
This is the same terroir that produces some of Burgundy's most celebrated bottles. Domaine Coche-Dury's Meursault can sell for $2,500–$3,000. Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru and Domaine Roulot 1er Cru retail for $400–$500+. The 2022 Victor Blachet Meursault is drawn from the same limestone hillside system and shares the mineral structure, balanced acidity, and layered texture that define this appellation—at a fraction of the price.
The 2022 vintage was called "Extraordinary" by Wine Advocate, who blessed it with 96 points.
Aging: Aged in selected vessels to balance freshness, texture, and complexity, with minimal intervention
Tasting Notes
100% Chardonnay.
Meursault wines are known for their rich texture, depth, and balance. They often feature ripe orchard fruit, hazelnut, butter, and toasted notes from aging. The wines carry weight and concentration, finishing long and savory.
Critic Reviews
An elegant, floral expression of Chardonnay, with notes of jasmine, honeysuckle, fresh green apple, yellow plum and a chalky, stony core. It's lean and mineral on the finish, then yields to a creamy release. ~ 92 Decanter

What the Critics Said
THE PRODUCER
Victor Blachet
Victor Blachet represents a new wave of Burgundy producers who draw on centuries of Meursault tradition while embracing a precise, low-intervention approach to Chardonnay. Working with parcels rooted in the same limestone slopes that built the reputations of iconic domaines like Coche-Dury, Roulot, and Comtes Lafon, the estate focuses on crafting wines that honor terroir through clarity, minerality, and refined texture. The philosophy is simple: let great vineyard land speak for itself.
