Swanson Vineyards was founded in 1985 by W. Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson and is widely known for handcrafted Pinot Grigio, Merlot, and Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, Swanson has long produced limited production, tiny batch wines made from intriguing varietals.
Certified as sustainably farmed by Fish Friendly Farming, Swanson Vineyards’ wines owe their wonderful aromas, flavors, and complexities to the soil and vineyard management. The vines are nurtured by the use of spacing and trellis systems, all selected to parallel the capabilities of the soil.
In 2023, that philosophy aligned perfectly with nature: a wet winter gave way to a dry, cool, and remarkably steady growing season, with harvest stretching longer than expected as the crop sized up—surprising even seasoned vintners. Early signs point to a standout year, with wines showing serious aromatic range, purity, and remarkable delineation, all shaped by the kind of mindful farming that Swanson has practiced for decades.
