2023 Tenuta Tre Gemme Terroir Line Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

This is the everyday face of a family estate whose flagship wine is literally named after its founder.

Tenuta Tre Gemme was started by Don Rocco Perrucci, a landowner in Catignano, Abruzzo, whose family has worked this land since the early 1800s. His daughters Carla and Anna Perrucci now run the estate, farming roughly 70 organic hectares across two adjoining plots in the Terra dei Vestini — a prized Montepulciano d'Abruzzo subzone named for the Vestini, an ancient Italic tribe who called these hills home long before Rome existed.

The estate's own name, Tre Gemme — "Three Gems" — comes from a thousand-year-old carved shrine found at the property's edge, depicting St. Anne with the Madonna child, its three gems said to represent the spark of intellect, the strength of the heart, and a bond with the earth. That's the kind of quiet, storied history baked into a bottle that otherwise looks like a simple, everyday Terroir Line red.

Terroir Line is Tre Gemme's clearest expression of that land — released young, meant to be enjoyed now.
