About The Wine

Chateau Ksara sits in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley and holds the title of the country's oldest commercial winery — founded in 1857 by Jesuit priests who brought French grape varieties and produced the country's first dry wines. In 1898, the estate uncovered two kilometers of Roman-era underground caves, now used for maturation thanks to their naturally stable climate. Today, the winery exports to more than 40 countries and remains one of Lebanon's most internationally recognized producers.

The Bekaa Valley is Lebanon's premier wine region — a high-altitude plateau between two mountain ranges where viticulture dates back millennia. The climate is Mediterranean with cool nights that preserve acidity, and the soils are a mix of clay and limestone that produce whites with both aromatic lift and structure. Sauvignon Blanc brings citrus snap, Trebbiano adds body, Clairette contributes floral lift, and Moscato layers in aromatics — a blend that mirrors the Mediterranean tradition of field blends designed for balance rather than varietal showcase.

Blanc de l'Observatoire is unoaked and expressive — floral on the nose with hints of hazelnuts, then a crisp citrus palate with stone fruit and wildflowers. Light-bodied, aromatic, simple but elegant. The kind of white wine that works equally well with grilled fish, mezze spreads, or as an aperitif on a hot afternoon.
