About The Wine

Twenty generations. Since 1450, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue has held Chambolle-Musigny's finest parcels — including roughly 80 percent of grand cru Le Musigny. The estate sits at the top of Burgundy's hierarchy, and winemaker Francois Millet's low-intervention approach lets each vineyard speak.

Chambolle-Musigny is the silkiest village in the Cote de Nuits — Pinot Noir at its most refined, built on shallow limestone soils that deliver aromatic lift and elegant tannins. The appellation's best bottles marry power and perfume in a way few regions can match.

The 2024 village bottling shows the estate's signature restraint. Hand-harvested in small crates, 50 percent whole-cluster fermentation on indigenous yeasts, aged in French oak with 30 percent new wood, unfiltered. Minimal intervention — the terroir does the work.

Ripe raspberries and plums, light pepper, earthy undertones. Suave and profound on the palate, with silky tannins that stretch long. This is Chambolle at its most accessible — the estate's calling card before you climb into the premiers and grands crus.

The kind of Burgundy that makes you understand why people chase allocations. Pull the cork now or cellar it through the decade — either way, you're drinking from one of the appellation's most important addresses.

CRITIC REVIEWS

What the Critics Said

"This release from de Vogüé would be delicious in any vintage, in 2024 it is astounding. There is impressive concentration to the ripe cherry and plum fruit aromas with an edge of peony and pepper. The texture is tannic and firm – the solid nature of the wine in such an aqueous vintage is remarkable. One imagines it is down to the effect of low yields, as well as to the inclusion of 15%-20% grapes from the premiers crus of Baudes and Fuées." ~93 Decanter

"The 2024 Chambolle-Musigny Village was co-fermented with two parcels of Premier Crus (Baudes and Fuées) this year due to smaller quantities. It has a pretty, slightly rustic bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry fruit, quite classical in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite chalky tannins, fresh and vibrant with an unusually racy verging on tart finish. Delicious and one that might be more suited for early consumption." ~91 Vinous Media
